On my kitchen cupboard I keep two lists. One is a list that helps me as a mother. The second is my list of health reminders. The list is written on a tacky piece of yellow notebook paper.
Without further ado... Here is my list:
Have I done these things today?
1. prenatal- iron, tiredness
2. superfood- energy, breastmilk, reduce cravings
3. cayenne- circulation
4. vitamin C food source- cholesterol, anti-aging
5. drink lots of water- tiredness, breastmilk, flushing kidneys
6. apple- breastmilk (helps prevent allergies in babies as they grow older)
7. Jungle Juice for women
8. fresh sunshine- prevents Seasonal Affective Disorder
9. raw honey- energy
10. raw cacao nibs- PH balance, energy
11. raw chopped garlic- fungus (moles), clarity of mind, immune boosting (I would like to do this everyday. But alas, I can't because I leaven the house sometimes.)
Have I done these things weekly?
1. colloidal silver in mouth, ears- colds, ear infections
2. echinacea- prevent colds
3. cold-eeze- prevent colds
4. red sockeye salmon- brain developement, calcium
5. seaweed- iodine, regulate metabolism
6. flaxseeds- keeps you regular
7. raw nuts- good for me
8. fresh & frozen fruit smoothie with leafy greens- immune boosting, takes away cravings, energy
9. lentil soup- PH balance
10. exercise- go on walk, crunches, push-ups
11. acidophilus- breath
12. apple cider vinegar- energy, moles
As the Lord wills, I plan to take a closer look at each one of these. But for now, see how many of these you can begin to incorporate in your daily routine.
Let me know the experiences you have!

Does your family get sick?
When my daughter Tyla was about four months old, we began a three month stretch of constant colds, earaches, sinus infections, and antibiotics. This routine certainly wasn't good for us, but I knew of no alternative. I also had extremely swollen tonsils, arthritis, tiredness, and an overall weakened immune system.
After round after round of antibiotics, I visited my friend Melissa, and told her about the health problems we had been having. She prevailed upon me to drink some carrot, apple, garlic juice mixed with Echinacea tincture. She gave me a couple bottles of tinctures by Dr. Schultze at Herbdoc.com and told me to swallow a few dropperfuls of Ech+ and Super Tonic mixed with water all day long for the next couple days.
And the result? By the next morning my tonsils had shrunk by almost half. Suddenly I had to know as much as I could about these "alternatives" to regular medicine. I gobbled up the Dr. Schultze newsletters Melissa had sent home with me. (I think the paper actually irritated my tonsils again, but it went away.)
It has been three years since then and we have not needed or used antibiotics. I have spent many hours learning about how the body works, what helps the immune system, and what helps the body heal. After trying lots of natural products and remedies, I've compiled my own personal list of what has worked for us.
Seriously, put some thought into this. In the last three years, since I have begun using natural medicines on a regular basis, we have not needed antibiotics. Of course, we still sometimes battle a cold. But the recovery time has been consistently less than one day.
So I want to use this blog as a way to teach others what I know about health the more natural way. With that in mind, here's my plan, to come to fruition as the Lord wills...
I've already put up my "health list" on another post--where I quickly list the things I try to do daily and weekly. I'd like to expound on each subject as time allows me.
Of course, my health blessings are not going to be written from the medical point of view. Thus, it is only a record of my own experiences.
What does this mean for you? My hope is that God will use this to bless you with greater health and vitality as He has blessed me.
Enjoy!
P.S. I also recommend www.curezone.com if you need a specific solution to a problem you are having now. I've found really good advice and really not-so-good advice there. But I haven't found any other website like it where people share the ways they have improved their immune system and their health.

How I am getting my baby to sleep longer and sounder-- without any schedule changes.
I have three children, but it wasn't until only a few months ago that I made an amazing discovery. I realized that if I drank a cup of orange juice with a heaping tablespoon of Greens+ or Green Vibrance Junior before nursing, my son would sleep much more soundly than normal. With my first two children, I never drank any special "Greens" powders, and neither were good sleepers. With this child, who is named James and is 4 months old, I drank Greens powders all through pregnancy. He was born 8 lbs. 1 oz., (compared to 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 7 lbs. 11 1/2 oz.), but he has been much chubbier as he grows than my first two. He is still not an overly fat baby though.
I made the discovery one morning while I was thinking about how exceptionally well my son was sleeping that day. It was a morning I had drunk the Super Greens. I thought about how he had slept really well a few days before that, on another day I had drank the Super Greens. I started to monitor how well he slept on the days I did and didn't drink the Greens. I noticed with startling regularity that he seemed to always sleep better on those days I drank it.
Another observation I made was that my friend, who probably drinks Greens Powders several times every day, has always had very chubby babies who rarely nurse. She nurses her babies without supplementing, but they are happy even when they must go for hours between feedings. I've noticed that James is also willing to go longer between feedings than my other babies were.
I'm thinking that somehow the greens powder gives the milk more protein (since Spirulina is so high in protein, and that is one of the key ingredients), more healthy fats, and more overall nutrition. It has something that is making my baby happy! Which is always great for the mommy.
Now the downside of this is that all those Green powders are expensive!!
What are Green Powders and can I get them?
I first tried a brand I bought online that caused some sort of bad reaction after I drank it. I had either a strong niacin flush or an allergic reaction, but I became very weak and my throat started closing up and I felt like I couldn't breath. So I never tried that brand again. Next I bought Green Vibrance Junior from Henry's Market in California. I really like that one, but I haven't seen it for sale out here in Texas. They do sell a Green Vibrance (for adults) that I have bought, but it doesn't seem to taste as good or give me as much energy as the kids version. So now I am using Greens+ that I bought at Central Market in Southlake, TX. It was $39.00 for a bottle that I am using up way too quickly. My friend who I mentioned earlier uses Vitamineral Green that she buys online, and she loves this "Superfood" above all the other green powders.
I've also considered buying just spirulina in bulk powder form because it would be so much cheaper. It would cost me $18.00 plus shipping for one pound of spirulina if I bought it online. Then I could "supplement" the spirulina with the greens powder, which has such an awesome range of ingredients. Or I can just keep praying that one of the companies who makes green powders will want to give me a years supply for free just because they like my blog. :) And this really is my preferred choice. In my own little dream world, because the Greens+ gives me so much energy and helps my nursing baby sleep so well, I would probably drink it 3 or 4 times a day if I could. I would just be looking at a $1,500 a year price tag on this little habit. I guess that is similar to people who get Starbucks every day: $5.00 a day X 365 days a year = over $1,500.
Now this "baby sleeping better" may just be my own strange experience, but it's worth trying if you have a baby that could use a little better sleep. :)
